New Features Added

Just a quick post to let you know that we've added a few new features to the site. The most obvious of these are some new social networking features, including member profile pages and the ability to follow other members by adding them as a friend.

These are the first of a number of changes we hope to be rolling out over the coming months which will help make the site more than just a business directory and add a strong community aspect to the site.

Book Restaurants Online with Where's Best and Top Table

We at Where's Best are pleased to announce that we've partnered up with toptable.co.uk to offer online restaurant booking on the site.

You can now book tables at over 2000 of the UK's top restaurants through the site simply by clicking on the 'Reserve a table' link on that restaurant's listing page. You can see an example of a bookable restaurant here.

The reservation process is quick and (more importantly!) free so why not give it a go?

Where's Best Mini-listing Widget

We're proud to announce that we've recently created the first 'widget' for the site. The mini listing widget has been designed to allow anyone to quickly add details of any of the UK businesses listed on Where's Best to their website or blog.

The widget displays the business name, address, phone number, average member rating and a small map and can be generated for any of the businesses featured on the site by clicking on the 'Add details to your website / blog' link on its listing page. Here's an example widget for an Indian restaurant where you can sometimes find the Where's Best staff:

The widget can be customised, allowing you to change the border colour and alignment of the details and map and comes in both an HTML / javascript and an Adobe Flash version. Here's another example, this time using the Flash version of the widget with the details / map aligned vertically and with the border in a rather fetching shade of blue:

If you're arranging a meeting or just want to tell people about your favourite UK venues, the widget is a quick and easy way to add the information to your website or blog. Why not create a widget of your own?
